Tickle battled through a shoulder injury he sustained in Saturday morning’s second practice session, but the Holly, Michigan rider stayed the course to finish 18th in the first moto and 17th in the second. While he slipped from fifth to seventh the championship, the rider of the # 20 Suzuki RM-Z450 knows the remaining six races is plenty of time to make up for lost ground.

“RedBud was tough,” said Tickle. “I crashed in the second practice and dislocated my shoulder. We popped it back in but it was pretty painful. I decided to race and try to just manage some points but that’s really how my day went.

“I crashed again in the first turn of the first moto so that didn’t help either. I’m going to try and get my shoulder better this week and hopefully be able to race at Southwick. If I can get through the next race, then we’ll have a week off so that should give me plenty of time for my shoulder to get better. That’s the focus right now. Obviously, I’m bummed about the situation and my results but I managed to do the best I could and not hurt myself any more than what I already did.”

The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship returns to the Wick 338 in Southwick this weekend for one of the most unique and gruelling contests on the summer schedule.
