The Japanese manufacturer topped several categories including enduro, off-road, overall and most notable, Adventure Touring, thanks to the new XTZ690. The Suzuki DR650SE was the second best seller in Adventure Touring with 119 sales and the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure third with 100 sales, up 3.1%. Further down the list in sixth position is the Yamaha Ténéré 700’s closest rival, the KTM 790 Adventure R, which KTM sold 71 units. The new Ténéré was not only the best selling Adventure Touring bike but the best-selling motorcycle overall.

Yamaha’s WR450F topped the Enduro charts but KTM dominated the category. Of the top-10 best selling Enduro models, KTM accounted for half and Husqvarna another two. Yamaha shifted 260 WR450Fs, down 21.7% from last year’s Q1. KTM’s 300EXC was the second best-selling enduro bike (200 units, up 30.7%) and the 450EXC third (157 units, up 127.5%).

Considering we’ve experienced devastating fires, floods and now Coronavirus over the past three months, it seems motorcycle sales are remaining strong.
