Yamaha rider Myles Gilmore finished fifth overall in the 125cc (12-17) B/C class. Myles recorded a best finish of sixth in Moto 1 and followed that up with a seventh and ninth in the races following. In Schoolboy 1 (12-17) B/C, Myles finish eighth overall after finishing 6-16-9.
KTM rider Noah Smerdon finished 13th in Schoolboy 1 (12-17) B/C with 7-10-22 moto results, despite nursing an injury. He finished 25th overall in 125cc (12-17) B/C class after placing 26-39-18. “Glad I was finally able to race Loretta’s even with a broken scaphoid,” Noah said on Instagram. “Had a few unlucky things happen with my chain falling off through a moto. Just happy to get a taste of what’s to come in the future. Looking forward to healing up after surgery on Monday. Huge thanks to all the people in the corner supporting me every step of the way.”
Adam Smerdon had a tough weekend. The KTM rider was involved in a first turn crash in Moto 1 and unfortunately suffered a broken scapula.
Three-time Grand National Cross Country WXC champion Tayla Jones raced her first-ever Loretta Lynn’s and came away with third overall in Women’s. The Husqvarna rider finished sixth in Moto 1 but was able to improve on that in the races following, finishing third in Moto 2 and fourth in Moto 3. “What a week!” said Jones on Instagram. “So stoked to come away with third overall at @lorettalynnmx. Was an all around fun week and cool experience.”
Tommy Callow raced the Mini Sr 2 (13-15) where he finished 38th overall. The young KTM rider finished 38-33-34 throughout the weekend.
Brad West finished seventh overall in 250 B class with fourth in the first moto, 11th in Moto 2 and seventh in Moto 3. The Kawasaki rider improved on this result in Schoolboy 2 (12-17) B/C, finishing 7-5-11 for sixth overall.
Queenslander Thomas Wood showed serious speed, claiming three from six holeshots and finishing as high as third in Mini Sr 1 (12-14) Race 2. His overall result in the class was 12th, with a 13th in Moto 1, third in Moto 2 and 23rd in Moto 3.
In Mini Sr 2 (13-15), Wood finished eighth overall after going 4-12-10.
