Yamalube Yamaha Racing’s Jayce Cosford has backed up his victory in the Sunshine State Series by winning the MX2 division at the Queensland Motocross Championships, held at QMP over the weekend.

Held over four races across the weekend, Cosford finished with 2-1-1-1 results to all but dominate proceedings on his YZ250F. Faced against many of his ProMX rivals, Cosford was on song all weekend, showing good speed and fitness to win three of the four races contested and come away with the number 1 plate in Queensland.

“It was good to tick that one off and win a Queensland championship,” Cosford said. “The whole team came out to support me, and we had a great weekend on a track that we have a national round out in a month’s time. The track was awesome even though we had perfect conditions on one day and then some overnight rain the next. Thanks to Joel and Mike for coming out and pumped to get a win for the team,” Cosford ends.

Heath Davy landed on the podium with a second place in the 12-16 years 85cc. Davy finished with 2-4-1-1-2 results to finish on 112 points, just three behind the leader in a solid weekend for the YZ85 rider.

Other notable results included Lachlan Allen finishing fifth in the 13-16 years 125cc class while he also posted a top ten result in the 250cc division. Jobe Dunne made the trip up from Victoria to also finish top ten on his YZ125 and YZ250F.
