The ShopYamaha Off-Road Team, featuring Jack Simpson and Will Dennett, will be at Deakin Motorcycles in Mildura this Thursday afternoon for a pre-event meet and greet. The newly appointed Yamaha team will be hosting an off-track event starting at 5 PM, featuring all the stars of Hattah in their dealership. Come along, grab a poster from the boys, and check out the full Yamaha range at Deakin Motorcycles.
Speaking of Simpson, testing has gone well, with Team Manager AJ Roberts impressed with his efforts and willingness to learn a different style of bike from what he has been racing in the US.
“We did a couple of days testing, and Jack has been great to work with. He can quickly work out what he wants and needs for the bike, as well as take on the advice of the team, so I think we covered a lot of ground quickly and built him a good race bike that he likes riding.
Will Dennett is also looking good and enjoys riding the sand. We have worked with Will for the past two years, so getting him sorted wasn’t too difficult. We feel both guys are in for a good showing this weekend.
Unfortunately, the news isn’t good for Cooper Sheidow. He is back up and riding, but he will sit this one out to focus on the SA 24 Hour the following weekend. It’s the 100th running of the event, and Cooper is the defending champion, so we agreed it was best to ensure he was right for that one, and racing Hattah wasn’t in his best interest,” AJ ends.
