KTM Racing Team’s Nathan Crawford and Kayden Minear have wrapped up their 2024 Australian ProMX Championship campaigns after a thrilling final round at Queensland Moto Park saw Minear charge to the runner-up MX2 series result and Crawford retaining third in the MX1 standings.

In the MX2 class, Minear and his KTM 250 SX-F enjoyed a strong day on the rough, technical circuit, finishing in P2 for the round and also claiming second in the championship.

After setting the third-fastest qualifying time, Minear kept the pressure on the front-runners to take a fourth-place result in moto one, then continued that same form in the final moto on his way to a convincing P3 finish.

Kayden Minear: “Looking back on it all, I’ve had an awesome season. It started off rough and I rode the first couple of rounds still recovering from injury. We pushed through everything and we got challenged a lot, but to see how far I’ve come since then has been amazing! Two good starts put me in a good spot today. I focused on my riding, not the championship, and I feel like I rode really well and finished the season strong.”

Meanwhile, in the premier MX1 class, equipped with the KTM 450 SX-F, Crawford – still feeling the effects of his crash at MX Farm last weekend – started the weekend on the pace, setting the fifth-fastest time in the Top 10 Pole Shootout.

The day’s two motos were tough for the Queenslander, finishing the final round of the season with a 5-11 scorecard and taking eighth overall. Still, Crawford’s result was enough to lock down third overall in the MX1 championship.

Nathan Crawford: “Things didn’t go my way again today, but looking at the big picture, there are still plenty of things to be proud of – I was one of only three guys to win races this year and I finished third in the points. It’s made me even more determined to be stronger again next year.”
