Is there a more synonymous name to kids moto gear than Fox? When I was a kid, it’s the main brand I remember on all my favourite riders. Fox owned the scene for a very long time and it’s awesome to see them still one of the best brands and also making excellent kids riding gear like the Fox Comp K Boot.

We picked up this set of Fox Comp K Boots nearly a year ago and they’re still going strong. Nothing has broken or worn excessively. The only downside is that we lost a strap!

WE LIKED

Comfort For a kids boot they’re incredibly snug and well-fitted. They’re soft on the inside so Jax never gets sore feet and there are no straps or Velcro parts that get uncomfortable.

Manoeuvrability Because the outside of the boot is not a hard plastic and because it has a softer material, Jax can easily walk in them. They’re still thick enough to prevent an injury.

Durability Jax uses these boots every day and nothing has broken. I understand that he’s not as hard on gear as an adult as he sits down more and his feet don’t hit the ground that often but the durability is still impressive.

Setup Comp K boot has two straps and Velcro strap at the calf which is all you need. They still fit tight and anymore straps would be overkill and take that little bit longer to put on!

WE DIDN’T LIKE

Long straps Jax’s foot is about 18cm and he’s almost too big for this boot but the straps are still as far in as they can go. The strap length is a little long making them cumbersome and unnecessarily long. We also lost a strap! It came out and we can’t find it.

VERDICT

The Fox Com K Boot runs the ActiveLock buckle system, a TPU shin plate, toe cap, and calf guard and a soft exterior which are all high-end components found on adult boots which is great! They’ve been bulletproof, comfortable and most of all safe. I would highly recommend them to any parent with a kid starting out on dirtbikes.
