The YZ250FX is delivered in AUS fitted with an off-road kit that includes handguards, rear view mirror, lights and a horn. This qualifies the model for recreational registration in applicable states.

The 2020 YZ250FX received the same host of upgrades as its YZ250F motocross and WR250F enduro stablemates, including a new cylinder and cylinder head, exhaust system, fuel injection, improved electronics, new frame, revised suspension and slimmer and lower body.

It features Yamaha’s front-intake, rear-exhaust, liquid-cooled, DOHC four-stroke engine, there’s also a six-speed, wide-ratio transmission, and a new heavy-duty large-diameter clutch.

Power is controlled by Yamaha’s smartphone Power Tuner app that puts precision tunability in the rider’s hands. A handlebar-mounted button switches between two preselected engine maps on the fly.
