The news marks the end of a 13-year partnership between GEICO and Factory Connection Honda.
In an Instagram post confirming the news, the team said: “We are working hard to fill our title sponsor spot so we can continue making memories for years to come.”
As a fitting send-off for one of the most recognised teams in the 250 class, 17-year-old GEICO Honda team rider Jett Lawrence secured the overall win at the final round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Pala Raceway, the team’s last outing under GEICO sponsorship. The win was a career-first for the young Queenslander.
His brother Hunter was unable to race after re-aggravating in practice the shoulder injury he sustained earlier in the season at Loretta Lynn’s II.
At this point, Factory Connection Honda has not confirmed what the team will look like next year in respect to riders or sponsors.
