This last month has been a blast on the Beta 300 Racing! The weather has finally come around and I’ve been able to get out and into some of the local trails that were too wet to ride previously. This bike still brings a smile to my face every time I ride it and I’m going to miss it when I have to give it back honestly.
For me the Beta just doesn’t do anything wrong. As an overall package it’s perfect for trail riding or racing in the bush straight out of the box! The only thing I’d change is the FIM tyres which aren’t bad but just don’t have that added grip of your main motocross tyres.
With it being dryer I decided to take on some pretty tough, almost hard enduro like hills and this is where the Beta really excelled. The twin spark and bottom end of a carby tuned bike made my job a lot easier going up. Staying in the bottom of the rev range and torquing the bike up was as easy as it gets. The motor I think is my favourite part of this bike for that reason.
I will admit the longer trail rides found me standing a little more with the harder seat than most bikes but after a ride or two I was used to it and forgot about it.
Nothing has really gone wrong and nothing has worn out too badly so far. I think I’m due for some brake pads and possibly grips but nothing unusual. What’s incredible now too is that Beta recommends around 80 hours on a top end and that’s if you’re revving it. With most average riders I’d say you could get closer to 100 hours if you keep the air filter and oil changes regular!
I’m going to miss the Beta when our chief editor takes it back but it’s been a pleasure and I’m very thankful for the opportunity from ADB and Beta Australia. What an awesome bike!
