Danielle McDonald jetted over to the US to tackle round seven of the US GNCC at Powerline Park, Ohio. With the support of the Yamaha AmPro Race team, McDonald entered the Pro Women’s division on a YZ250F.
In muddy but drying conditions, McDonald battled hard over the course of the three laps completed to finish seventh for the round with a time of 1:59:33, just over nine minutes behind the lead rider. She was also the first Yamaha rider home.
On the opening lap, Danielle was charging forward, heading to the front of the pack when she got swallowed up by a mud hole and lost a heap of positions. She fought back only to again get herself into a muddy mess and have her progress come to a halt in a bog-hole.
“The conditions on the weekend were tough as it had some rain and there were some really muddy sections, some wet and slippery sections, and it was pretty physical to ride. I don’t think I was at my best, but I learned a lot and thank you to the AmPro team for giving me a chance. We are working towards doing more as when I don’t have event clashes in Australia,” Danielle said.
