Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team’s Hunter Lawrence was a front runner at the weekend’s round of the European Motocross Championship but couldn’t crack the top three, settling for a 4-8 finish, which was good enough for fifth overall.
It was a tough day of racing for the young Australian with rough track conditions and stiff competition making for a hard days work.
The Kawasaki rider has his fair share of back luck in Race 1, first getting got caught up in a first turn pile-up and then dropping it on a few occasions as he aggressively made his way through the pack in an attempt to recover lost positions.
In Race 2 things got worse with Lawrence recording an eighth place finish.
With his fifth overall at Pietramurata, Lawrence maintains second overall in the EMX250 Championship.
