As outlined yesterday in ADB’s update on coronavirus restrictions around the country, Queensland riders must still observe social distancing guidelines and can only visit a state forest if they live within 50 kilometers.
HQPlantations, which manages 330,000 ha of forest in Queensland including the Glass House Mountains released this statement today.
The Queensland Government has announced it is easing some COVID-19 confinement restrictions from 11.59pm Friday, 1 May.
From Saturday morning, people whose principal place of residence is within 50km of a HQPlantations-managed forest can now visit for recreation, including motorised recreation.
However, the following restrictions apply:
• You must be within 50km of your primary home
• Social distancing requirements still apply
• You are only permitted to be with family (living under one roof) or one other person
• Convoys and tag-alongs are not permitted
• Congregating in popular meeting places is not permitted.
People are reminded that they must comply with forest signage at all times day or night and never enter a work site. The following activities are also prohibited at any time:
• Driving or riding an unregistered or conditionally registered vehicle or without the proper license
• Driving or riding on tracks or off-road – you must remain on formed roads
• Driving or riding through mud
• Winching off trees
• Camping or overnighting
• Fires, including camp fires
• Littering and illegal dumping.
Please enjoy your visit and take care by driving to the conditions, respecting plantation roads and being alert for log truck and other recreational users, while maintaining social distancing practices.
