The defending champion of the Assoluta, Steve Holcombe, showed up in great dust and was the absolute protagonist. On Saturday, the English rider started carefully and then increased the pace in the final part of the race winning a great second place overall with a gap from the first of only 6.46 seconds.

On Sunday, Holcombe managed to express himself to the full, dominating the race and going to record the best times in four of the nine special tests scheduled. The reigning World Champion, riding the Beta RR 300 2T, sealed the success obtaining incredible times in the demanding Enduro Test and in the Extreme Test inaugurating the season in the best way.

“I am satisfied with my first race here in Italy at the Assoluti,” said Holcombe. “In these two days of competition I have refined the feeling with my new bike and after a long period of stop the result is more than satisfactory. We will now prepare the first world GP which will be in a couple of weeks in Germany”.

Also present at Gioia dei Marsi the new entry Benjamin Herrera. The Chilean, riding a Beta RR 350 4T, had a good race placing himself at the fifteenth place overall on Saturday and eighth in the Foreigners class while on the final day Benjamin Herrera improved his score obtaining an eleventh place overall and a sixth in the Foreigners class.

Two double victories for Beta Boano Team: Deny Philippaerts won both the races of the class 300 while Matteo Pavoni of the youth class.

The Beta Factory Enduro Team will take a little break and then move to Germany for the first GP of the season scheduled for March 22nd, 23rd and 24th in Dahlen.
