FREE TRICK: NEVER LOOSE SPACERS

TROUBLE:

Having a set of spare wheels to take with you to the track is much easier than having to change tubes or tyres in the dirt. But what do you do with the wheel spacers? If you leave them in the wheels then they have the potential to fall out and get lost.

TRICK:

Cable tie them to the spokes. That way no matter how much the spare wheels get thrown around the spacers will always be there when you need them.

FREE TRICK HOW DEEP TO GO

TROUBLE:

You are trying to tune your suspension but it is really hard to gauge how far the suspension has travelled through the stroke.

TRICK:

Place an O-ring or cable tie around your fork tube. The forks will push this down the fork leg as the suspension travels through the stroke and it will stop at the deepest position showing you how far through the stroke your suspension has travelled.

FREE TRICK SCUFFED UP

TROUBLE:

Your boots rubbing on the frame leaves black marks all over the frame that regular washing just won’t get rid of.

TRICK:

When you are washing your bike, take one of these scotch-brite pads and submerge it in detergent. Then scrub your frame with it and it will take all the black boot marks right off and make your frame look brand new again.

FREE TRICK SPARE FILTER

TROUBLE:

Oiling an air filter can be a messy job and nobody wants to be doing it at the track. But if it’s been really dusty and you don’t want any of that dust making its way into your engine then it’s a job you will need to do.

TRICK:

Oil the air filter at home and place it in a sealed bag. Then this way at the track all you need to do is throw on a set of rubber gloves and swap the filters without having to deal with messy air filter oil.
