We love the Dirt Bike Burrito Podcast (DBB). We see the DBB podcast as an audio version of ADB. They travel the country each month catching up with racers and trailriders to talk about what makes them tick. It makes for some great listening while you’re crunching out the highway kays! Here’s a snapshot of what the Dirt Bike Burrito Podcast got up to last month and the podcasts you don’t want to miss!
Foot in the door
High-speed desert racing is not for the faint-hearted and it seems young female rider Danielle Foot has a big heart! The DBB crew caught up with Foot before the legendary 2024 Finke desert race to talk about being the only female competitor to do the ironman double: racing both car and bike categories! She will be driving for her dad and stepping up to a 500cc dirtbike as the only female competitor to do it on the big-bore. She talks about her help from sponsors Better Beer (the blokes behind the hilarious YouTube channel The Inspired Unemployed) and all other things desert.
Water works
Still talking Finke 2024 and the DBB crew caught up with Bodie Waters before the event. Waters will be flying the flag for Honda aboard a heavily modified CRF450R built specifically for Finke. He will likely be the only Honda inside the Top 20 and is under guidance of ADB’s Chief tester Ben Grabham, another Honda legend. Waters talks about the Honda not having the power of the 500cc machines or the top speed but what it lacks in those areas it makes up for in pickup. It’s a very interesting listen with some great insight into how the Honda works in the desert.
Rally fiend
Staying fast-paced but switching to rally, the DBB crew also caught up with Toby Hederics who is racing in the Desafio Ruta 40 in Argentina. Hederics talks about preparing for Argentina, what training he‘s been doing and the KTM 450 Rally Replica he imported into Australia. He’s young, he’s from Mildura, and he knows the desert. He won a free entry to the 2025 Dakar Rally because he got Rookie of a round! Get behind this young Aussie and have a listen to his journey in 2024.
Dog fight
And finally, if you missed the last round of the Australian Hard Enduro Championship (AHEC) then you wouldn’t be aware of the insane battel between Beta’s Ruben Chadwick and Sherco’s Anthony Solar after the Wattle Flat round. The DBB guys get both riders on the mic to talk about their intense battle for the entire race and how it has setup an epic season that’s sure to go back and forth. They also talk about their prep for the 2024 Red Bull Erzbergrodeo!
